Volunteering
You will hear it a lot...Swim Team simply cannot function without volunteers. There are lots of roles and functions, and the more volunteers we have the less the burden. While some are on deck at meets (did you know that DR needs to provide between 35 and 70 volunteers for every meet?), there are many options that can be done in advance and/or from home.
Volunteering is fun, you’ll make new friends in the process, and it is necessary and REQUIRED of all families. If you are signing your child(ren) up for swim team, you are committing to volunteering. Even if your child doesn’t swim at meets, there are plenty of volunteer needs and opportunities.
If you are not familiar with the available volunteer roles, please check our volunteer guide here. We will help with shadowing and training opportunities. Especially if you are new to swim team, please do not hesitate to be in touch with our volunteer coordinators, Erin Thompson and Erin Bracken. We will find a role for you to get involved!
